Update on Fitness and weight loss!
I started focusing on weight loss about a year and a half ago.
I feel like everyone has this moment at some point in life when they start thinking seriously about their health. The triggers are different for everyone. For me, it happened when I started traveling more and meeting people from different backgrounds and nationalities.
It hit me how unhealthy my lifestyle was — just casually putting almost anything into my body without thinking twice. Doing that once in a while probably doesn’t hurt much, but if you do it every day, it catches up to you. I started feeling it physically. Fitness and weight were the two things that kept pulling my confidence down, and over time, it just started bothering me more.
At some point, I sat down and realized: There’s no point sitting around waiting. Nobody is going to magically reduce my weight for me. If I want to change, I have to act.
What'd I do?
I still remember it was around October when I decided to start. I picked a course on the Cult app at home: Burn Belly with Olivia. I used to take my mat, step out onto the balcony, and do the workouts there.
I never really liked the idea of typical gyms in my area earlier. They always felt like crowded spaces where nobody actually talks to anyone.
Honestly, I think for me it was more about the people — I was living in an area back then where I just didn’t vibe with the crowd 😆
Eventually, I got bored with home workouts. But that's when I found group classes through the same Cult app.
The center was about half an hour from my home, but I pushed myself to go daily. I kept that up for a month.
In 2024, we moved to Gurugram. The vibe is much better, more things to do around. This changed things a lot. I joined a Cult center here that's literally a 15-minute walk away.
Now I go every day. I do the classes almost daily — they have a good mix:
- Boxing: Learning all the jabs and cuts.
- Strength classes: One of my favourites, because I love the different formats. AMRAP (As many rounds as possible), Chipper, EMOM (Every minute on minute).
- Burn: Different workout drills that focus on full body and weight loss
- HRX Workout: Muscle building, its less about how many reps but about increasing the weight in each round.
- Dance Fitness: All about moving body and enjoy music and dance
Right now I do mix of Strength, HRX and Dance fitness. When I started, I was around 89 kg (196 lbs). Today, I’m around 72 kg (159 lbs). So lost like 20 kg (40 lbs) 🚀
Things I am proud of
Well these are some of things I achieved in past year and half that I'm really proud of

- Getting back to healthy BMI levels: 23 right now
- I did check the box for having abs ✅
- I completed 474 classes 🚀

Interesting changes
There’ve been a few interesting things I’ve noticed while losing weight and getting fitter:
- I actually prefer going out daily now. I don’t feel like just sitting around at one place anymore. Way less laziness compared to before.
- I can do more reps and rounds than a lot of people. It’s small, but it really boosts my confidence. Just yesterday, we had two exercises in an AMRAP format: American Swing and Spiderman Plank.
I managed about 10 rounds in 15 minutes — starting with 12 kg (26 lbs) for the first round, then 16 kg (35 lbs) for 4 rounds, 20 kg (44 lbs) for 4 rounds, and finally 24 kg (53 lbs) for the last round. - I went from an XL size to M.
- My waist size dropped from 40 inches to 32 inches.
- My weekday eating routine is very defined. I’ve been following it for over a year now without much experimentation — simple, higher protein, lower carbs, nothing fancy, just consistent.
- My face is way slimmer now. Honestly, I had stopped tracking at one point — and when I compared a photo from a year back, I was shocked at the difference.
- Different workouts like dance and boxing have been a great emotional outlet. Whenever I’m not feeling great — personal or professional stuff — I just switch to dance classes for a few days. Works like magic.
- I genuinely feel more confident now. Not just in fitness, but across everything — work, social stuff, everything.
- My eating routine on weekdays is defined and I don't experiment with it. It has been working for me from more than a year now. Try to limit carbs and more protein
- I can't eat junk regularly anymore — my body just doesn’t accept it.
I’ve tried a few times, but it always backfires. So now, I’ve just stopped doing it. - People guess my age 4–5 years younger now. Hands down, one of the best unexpected bonuses.

My next target is to actually just maintain this.
